Mr. Harold Eugene VanDeventer, age 84, died November 3, 2014 at 8pm.
   He was born September 28, 1930 in Stenesville,Indiana. Gene has resided in Manteca, CA for over 25 years.  He worked at Valley Industrial Laundry as a delivery driver.  He also worked as a Manteca police reserve, retired Captain for the Newark, CA police department, and maintenance and groundskeeper for the First Assembly of God and Crossroads Grace Community Church.  He was in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954.  Gene was also a semi-professional basketball player at Stinesville High School. He was a member of Crossroads Grace Community Church.
   Survived by, his wife Sandra Lee VanDeventer and their children, five grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren, Steve and Roxie Gimeniz, Shelly Pierce, John and Melanie Riley, Len and Deanna Hanson, Nariana VanDeventer, Anthony Basada, Jason and Janessa Riley, Drake Wayne Gimenez, Nathan and Ryan Hanson, Jason Richard Eugene Riley, Alberta Tucker and Lavonne Livingston.  He
 was affectionately known as Mr. Gene
   Services will be November 13th 11am
at Crossroads Grace Community Church,
1505 Moffat Blvd, Manteca CA.  Burial will be November 17th at 12:30pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetary, 32053 McCabe Rd, Santa Nella, CA 95322
