Hazel Jones passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, March 2, at Bethany Home at the age of 99. Born to George and Myrtle, on August 21, 1910, in Council Bluff Iowa. Hazel graduated from Everett Washington High School in 1929. Following her graduation she worked in the high school office as a secretary, followed by the American Fruit Growers. Hazel married Fred H. Jones in 1935 and became a homemaker.

Hazel is survived by her son Donald & Cathy Jones of Manteca; grandchildren, Craig & Gina Jones, and Michelle & Tim Kovacs, both of Manteca; great-grandchildren, Brett  and Austin Kovacs, and Sienna and Corrine Jones of Manteca; sister, Iva Lutthans of Colorado Springs; nephew, Ron Lutthans of Florida and niece, Jan Lutthans of Colorado Springs. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years Fred H. Jones, brother-in-law Vern Lutthans, daughter-in-law, Kathy R. Jones, and great-grandson Micah A.  Jones.

Hazel enjoyed her church family, friends, traveling the world, frequent bus trips to Reno, working in her yard during her free time, and spending time with her grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Hazel’s visitation will be on Friday, March 5, from 1-5 p.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel. Her service will be on Saturday, March 6 at 11 a.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel  with burial following at Parkview Cemetery. There is an on-line guest book available at www.deeganfuneralchapels.com.
