Our wonderful father passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Prestige Senior Living in Manteca.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 78 years, Josephine Ottaviano.  He was a long time resident of Manteca.

He leaves behind four sons, Henry Jr. (Mary Ann) of Pleasanton CA, William (Maureen) of Banning CA, John (Claudia) of Oroville CA, and Ken (Judy) of Concord CA; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren.  He is also survived by sisters, Gladys and Josephine, and brothers, John and Arthur all of Pennsylvania.

He was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania 96 years ago.  He served in the Army Air Force in World War II.  He retired from the University of California Berkeley after 35 years as a gardener.  He was loved and respected by family, friends and all that knew him.

The family wants to thank all the staff at Prestige Senior Living who lovingly cared for him during his last days and also San Joaquin Hospice.

Services for Henry Joseph Ottaviano are under the direction of PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca.  A visitation is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21st, 1pm to 5pm at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home.  A prayer service is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 22, 10:00 a.m. at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home.  He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Henry’s name to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA. 95204.
