Inez Karim, 79, passed peacefully away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 in Manteca.

She was born September 10, 1929 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Onofre and Juana (Montes) Grijalva in Jerome, Arizona. Inez resided in Manteca since the late 1960s.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Hamid Karim, Sr.; children Kathie Medeiros of Stockton, Steven Karim, Sr. and wife Cindy, Randy Karim and wife Maria, and Patricia Karim, all of Manteca, Jeff Karim and wife Debbie of Mason, Ohio, Barbara Hovey and husband David of Stockton; siblings Mary Jimenez and Jenny Flores of Stockton, Ramona Jimenez of Manteca, Raymond Grijalva of Stockton, Maggie Alonzo of Chowchilla, and Joe Valenzuela of San Jose; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Inez was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She cherished her family dearly and loved caring for them. She always looked forward to the many family gatherings. Inez treasured so much in life. She enjoyed watching football, especially her favorite team, the St. Louis Rams. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time in Tahoe.

Inez was preceded in death by her children Sheron Ramirez and Hamid Karim, Jr., and siblings Jesse Grijalva and Leona Supnet. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 19, from 2 to 6 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A Celebration of Life will follow on Friday, March 20, at 1p.m. at P.L. Fry Son Funeral Home. Final resting place will be at Park View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Inez’s name to the American Heart Association.
