God Speed Dad! The measure of a man is known by how much he is loved by those around him. By that reckoning, you stand pretty tall. We love you and will miss you till we see you again in eternity.

Jack Birmingham, 76, entered into rest on November 14, 2012 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his father Ray Birmingham, his mother Nellie Birmingham, and his brother Delbert John “DJ” Birmingham.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Wilma Birmingham. He has four children, Del Birmingham of Pasadena, CA, Jack Birmingham (Candi), Connie Adams (Mike) and Steve Birmingham (Shelly) all of Manteca. His sister Betty Cochran of Stockton, Mary Rasmussen (Rod) of Missouri, and Vern Birmingham (Della) of Manteca. He has 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Jack proudly served his country through the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a resident of Manteca for 48 years.

Jack was also passionate about his family, and loved having all of them around him. He also loved music and had a county band “Country Breeze” for 15 years. He loved riding his motorcycle, flying airplanes or traveling with his wife when his health permitted. He also loved to solve puzzles and do math equations. He is adored by his two little dogs, Buster and Sassie who brought him joy and comfort.

His love for God was evident in his generous and humble heart that touched everyone that new him. He will be greatly missed by all who know and loved him.

Celebration of life will be on Saturday, December 8, 2012. A private burial will be held at Santa Nella Veterans Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to 445 Elm Ave., Manteca, CA 95336
