James Edward Sward

   James Edward Sward, 68, entered into rest on August 8, 2014, in Manteca. He was born on February 2, 1946, in Kingsburg, CA. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy Quintal Sward, of Manteca, children, James Sward Jr., of Stockton, Michael Sward of Manteca, and Mark Quintal of Seattle.  He was blessed with many grandchildren. In addition, James has one surviving sister, Kathleen Lawler of Clovis.

   James was a veteran serving his country proudly through the United States Army. He was a resident of Manteca for thirty years. He loved his wife dearly, she was his best friend. He was loving and social. James enjoyed having company and looked forward to his ritual bickering with his beloved sister in law. He and wife Kathy traveled in their motor home spending weeks at time going from coast to coast. He was a natural caregiver, making sure every need was always met at home. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend.   

   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve the Sward family. A Chapel service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014, at 11 a.m., at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. He will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery, 3661 East French Camp Road, French Camp. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
