James William Jenkins, 74, entered into rest peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2012 in Stockton, California. He was born on April 11, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio, to parents William and Bessie Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Lee Jenkins.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Janet Jenkins and his beloved children: James Jenkins Jr. and wife Karen, Mark Jenkins and wife Pamela, Shelly JenkinsLouie and Thomas Langenhorst . He was blessed with twelve grandchildren: Zachary Jenkins and wife Amy, Jordan Louie, Melissa Bledsoe and husband Eric, Megan Jenkins, Mark Jenkins Jr, Jennifer Jenkins, Jessica Jenkins, Natalie Jenkins, Naomi Jenkins, Nicole Jenkins, Sarah Baptist and husband Damon, Jonathan Langenhorst and Brittany Johnson. Also seven great- grandchildren: Katrina Jenkins, Kyle Jenkins, Madisyn Bledsoe, Dylan Bledsoe, Easton Johnson-Langenhorst, Jocelyn Baptist, and Amiya Baptist. He leaves behind siblings Earl Jenkins, Rosemary Henault and husband Richard, Francis Kusz and husband Ronald of Ohio, also sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Sonny Bitz of Florida.

Jim served in the military where he earned the rank of Specialist (E-4), serving in Korea before leaving the service to raise his family. Before retiring, he was also the owner and operator of RF Distribution Satellite Company in Manteca. He was an extremely knowledgeable man, knowing just a little bit about everything, and if he didn’t know the answer off the cuff, it was an endeavor for him to find a resolve or answer. His caring heart never went unnoticed by family as well as friends. His devotion to his wife was like no other, their love for each other was unconditional, and unmatched by others.

Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, amazing father, doting grandfather, and very special brother and friend. We will love you forever and miss you always.

The family will be hosting a celebration of life at the home of Jim’s daughter, Shelly (671 Blossom Ct., Manteca), on Saturday, Feb. 25, at noon. Services and burial will be graveside on March 2, 2012 at 1:30 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Dixon.
