Mr. James William Parry of Manteca, a former resident of Lodi, passed away on Monday, April 5, at the age  of 87.  Mr. Parry was born in Emeryville, CA, on March 19, 1923, to James and Frances (Richardson) Parry. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II. He went on to work for the City of Emeryville as Crew Chief for Public Works for 28 years. He and Mrs. Parry moved to Lodi in 1990. In 2005, he moved to Manteca. He was a very artistic person and enjoyed shopping, camping, fishing, painting, wood carving and landscaping. He also loved to watch old musicals, but most importantly, his family was his life. He is survived by his daughter, Lynne (John) Kelm of Manteca; son, Brian Parry of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brittany and Courtney Kelm; two great-grandchildren, Julian Kelm and Tyler Dobbins.  
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Parry on January 30, 2005,  and sister, Irene Thomas.  

Friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday, April 10 and 11, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. A chapel service will be held on Monday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with committal to immediately follow at Cherokee Memorial Park, with Military Honors provided by Ed Stewart Post #803. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
