Jim Olson obit

Born on October 16, 1947, Jim Olson, entered into rest on November 10, 2022 in Ripon, Ca. He was 75 years old.

Jim is survived by his loving family; wife Marsha Olson, children Lori Moreno and Billy Earl Olson, grandchildren, Ariel, Peter James, Nicole, Micah, Sara, Wyatt and Taylor and seven great-grandchildren. In addition, Jim has four surviving siblings, Karen Morse, David Olson, Dale Olson and. Dawn Smith

Jim moved to Manteca with his parents from Ottawa Illinois in 1962.  He graduated from Manteca High School in 1965. He proudly served his country through the US Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After the military, Jim tried his skills on the Stockton 99 speedway where he raced his stock car in the early 70s. Jim and his wife raised their two children in Manteca and attended East Nazarene Church where he taught Sunday School. For the past twelve years Jim and Marsha made their home in Klamath Falls. While living in Oregon, Jim was a member of the Elks Club, VFW and was a volunteer and supporter of the PTSD group for veterans in Klamath Falls.

Jim was an extremely intelligent man who loved people. He was truly the man who never met a stranger; he genuinely took great interest getting to know others through their life stories. Jim was also a gifted author and had nine books published. His books were fiction and non-fiction, stories about his life, others’ lives, and military life. Jim found a sense of enjoyment in placing emotions on paper and telling the stories as if the reader was the main character in his books.  Jim will be remembered as a devoted family man who loved God, family and country. He will be missed by all who loved and cared for him.
