Jacoba (Jo) Fikse Van Klompenburg was called home to the Lord on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the age of 99 years and 9 months. She was born on a farm in Sioux County, Iowa, and moved to southern California with her family during the Great Depression.

   Jo married Harold Van Klompenburg in 1946. They moved to Ripon, CA in 1949 where she operated a beauty salon out of her home for thirty years.  She was a devout Christian and a long time member of Calvary Reformed Church. 

After retirement, Jo and Harold enjoyed many years of traveling, camping, fishing, and spending time with family. She enjoyed gardening and developed a love for painting ceramics at the Ripon Senior Center. 

   Jo is survived by two children, Cheryl Durst and Jon (Sarah) Van Klompenburg, seven grandchildren, two great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

   She was preceded in death by her husband Harold of 70 years. 

   A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 27, at 11 a.m. at the Atlanta M.E. Cemetery, 13737 Lone Tree Rd. (near Jack Tone Rd.), Escalon, followed by a gathering.
