John Anacleto, 63, passed away Monday, January 11 in Manteca. He was born March 10, 1946 in Ribeira Seca, St. George, Azores.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Nancy Elizabeth Anacleto; sons, John Anthony Anacleto and his wife Joy of Manteca, and James Anacleto of Manteca; grandchildren, Nicholas, Mark and Alyssa Anacleto; brothers, Vasco and Nazario of Hilmar and Celso and Flavio of Turlock; sisters, Maria Fatima Rucker of Medford, Oregon, Maria Cidalia Parrett of Merced and Maria Cassia Anacleto of Merced; and his godchildren, Anna Logan, Alfonzo Jimenez, and Mallory McIntyre. He was preceded in death by his parents.

After serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and after completing his AA degree, John spent over 30 years as a diesel mechanic working on heavy equipment. He was a proud member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, American Legion and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Manteca. A devoted husband, father, uncle and friend, John will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca. Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. at Park View Memorial Chapel with an interment following the service at Park View Cemetery in Manteca.
