John Charles Swan

John Charles Swan, 67, after a long illness went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2009, at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA.

He was born in Sacramento, to the late Wesley and Dell Swan.  He lived in Manteca for 6 years. He was a jack-of-all-trades, from a mechanic to a handyman, and he enjoyed selling on the flea market circuit.  He loved fishing and camping in the mountains, gold panning, glass etching and NASCAR. His greatest love was his family and friends. He was a people person and just talking to him you felt like you had been friends for years. He will be truly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Anna Swan of Manteca; children Deanna and Tony Soares of Manteca, Robert and Nicola Royston of New York, Debra White of Indiana, Wendy Swan of Alaska, and Corey Swan of Nevada; his grandchildren Miranda and Tony Soares, Bobby and Summer Royston, Fred and Sherry Coca, and Harley Swan; 7 great-grandchildren, and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Dell Swan, his brother Robert Swan, his grandson Christopher Royston and his cousin Evan Burwell.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church, 1125 N. Union Road in Manteca.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Community Hospice Foundation at 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
