John Curtis Alleman, 70, entered into rest on June 16, 2010 in Manteca, California. He was born on July 4, 1939 in Modesto, California, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Boyd and Opal Alleman.

 Mr. Alleman is survived by his wife of 20 years Daisy Alleman. He had two sons, Kenneth Alleman and wife Heidi of Portland, OR. and Daniel Alleman and wife Danelle of Magalia, CA., He was blessed by 4 grandchildren, Austin Alleman of Portland, OR., Jordan Alleman of Portland, OR., Sharlynn Alleman of Magalia, CA., and Hannah Clingan of Magalia, CA. In addition John is survived by two brothers, Richard Alleman of Ripon, and Glenn “Bruce” Alleman of Vancouver, WA.

John retired from Caltrans after 43 years of service as a traffic engineer. He was an accomplished self-taught machinist and fabricator and put these talents to work in his shop giving new life to the vintage two-cylinder tractors he had loved since his childhood. He and his wife Daisy traveled the U.S. and a big chunk of the world on two wheels, making friends in both the small towns and big cities they visited on each trip. John’s love for his family and friends, passion for adventure, and reverence for craftsmanship and competence, inspired all who know him and will continue to guide his children and grandchildren throughout the rest of their lives.

Mr. Alleman’s service is being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held Friday, June 25, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 1p.m. both held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, California. He will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery. An on-line guest book is available for condolences at www.plfryandson.com.
