John Joseph Ibarra “Rocky”, 44, entered into rest on February 22, 2009 in French Camp. He was born on March 18, 1964 to Jose and Sally Ibarra in Oakland. He joins his mother in heaven Sally Ibarra.

Rocky is survived by his long time girlfriend Nikki Cantrell of Union City, father, Jose Ibarra; sons, Daleno Cantrell-Ibarra and Keoni Cantrell-Ibarra both of Union City; siblings Sally Y. Ibarra and husband Robert Acosta of Manteca, Gloria A. Acevedo and husband Richard of Union City, P.J. Salas and wife Rosemary of San Jose, Jessie Hall of Santa Barbara, and Elvira Ibarra of Castro Valley. He was also blessed by many nieces and nephews as well as extended family members who loved him dearly.

Rocky graduated in 1983 from Brenkwitz High School in Hayward, California. He enjoyed drawing and was a great story-teller. He loved to joke with family and friends and always had a smile on his face. Making people laugh was always Rocky’s daily goal. He loved to brighten their days with is full of life attitude. He was known as the fun uncle and was very good to his nieces and nephews. Being with family was very important to Rocky. He cherished every moment that he spent with his brothers and sisters and extended family members. His dogs Nico and Chula were his right hand companions. Rocky always took time out to love his sons; they meant the world to him.

Mr. Ibarra’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Services will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 1 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road in Manteca. Interment will be private.
