John Lee Preyer II was born on March 10, 1954 in Montgomery, AL to the parents of John Lee and Rosie Nell Preyer.  He was the first of two children. John was called (Johnny Kool) by friends and family starting at an early age, in Cleveland, OH where he attended St. Adalbert and Benedictine all boys school. John graduated high school from El Cerrito High in El Cerrito, CA.  Here is where he met his soulmate Brenda Whiten.
  John and Brenda were married November 25, 1973, in Richmond, CA.  John served in the military for 10 plus years, including time served in Germany, where his first son Johnny was born.  He also served in Ft Belvoir, VA, where his second son Michael was born.  The family lived in several states in the early years until John retired from the military.  They resided in Colorado Springs, CO, for a number of years, before moving to Manteca, CA, in 1996.
   After John’s military career, he was a member of several organizations such as the VFW, the Moose Lodge and the Lions Club.   John also owned and managed several business in Manteca, CA.  He was very social, loved music, was an excellent dancer, an avid Raiders fan and loved fancy cars.
   Preceding John into rest on March 23, 2015 is his father John L Preyer, and his wife of 41 years Brenda G Preyer.  The love of his life passed away just a week before his death.  John is survived by his two sons Johnny and his wife Antoinette, Michael and his wife Audea, all residing in Manteca, CA.  In addition John is survived by his six grandchildren whom he loved Jaleel, Tevyn, Jazmyn, Natayla, Mickayla and Makenna.  John is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Rosie Preyer, Brother Patrick Preyer and his wife Carla.  Also included is a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
   Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 10 at 12 noon at Park View Funeral Home, located at 3661 E French Camp Road, Manteca, CA 95336.   Phone: 209-982-1611
