John Robert Miller II, 16, entered into rest on May 25, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 1, 1993 in Stockton, California. He was a resident of Manteca for 16 years. He is preceded in death by grandparents Bill Malloy and Darlene Davis.
John is survived by his parents John and Billie Miller of Manteca. He has one brother Brandon Thompson of Turlock. His grandparents are John and Barbara Miller of Moraga. He has several aunts and uncles; Aaron and Lisa Davis of Delhi, Steven Malloy of Turlock and Mike and Fran Miller of Manteca. In addition John has 4 cousins; Chad and Ashley and Elisa and Sydnie.
John was financially sponsored and currently attending Modesto Christian High completing his junior year. He was actively involved in their Drama program where he was an inspiration to the students for his strength and courage. Before high school John attended Colony Oak elementary school in Ripon and Plumfield Christian Academy of Manteca he was also homeschooled through Connecting Waters Charter School. He was a member of Manteca Gospel Assembly Church. He enjoyed skateboarding especially when it involved a day at the skate park with his friends. He was extremely passionate about going to church and felt as if his church family was his second home. He loved animals particularly his dogs Bear and Molly which were always at his side. John was a leader always charming and honest. He was considerate to others as John’s desire was to put the love and wellbeing of his friends and family first and foremost. He had a wonderful sense of humor, ready to crack a joke at any time. John will be missed but we shall see him again.
John’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 28,, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Manteca Gospel Assembly 215 Elm St. Manteca. A memorial fund has been set up for the Miller family at Delta Bank 611 North Main Street Manteca, CA 95337 under the account name of John Robert Miller II Memorial Fund.
