John S. Medeiros, 87, entered into rest on July 12, 2016. He was born in Manteca, March 2, 1929. He was a resident of Manteca for 87 years.
  John is survived by his wife of 65 years Elsie E. Medeiros. They were two weeks shy of their 66th wedding anniversary.  He is also survived by his son Robert Medeiros and wife Dawn, daughter Bernice Howard Vigel and husband Phil, grandchildren, Melissa, Chance, Gabreal, Tim, Matthew and Joey, and one great-grandson Hendrick.
  John worked for the South San Joaquin Irrigation District for 40 years.
  He was very active in the Valey Tractor Pullers Association since 1994. He won many first place belt buckles and jackets. His tractor was a Massey Harris 44-6. He was also a member since 1987 of the Modesto A’s Club with his 1930 Model A.
  John was a humble, giving man and loved his family immensely. His easy-going, loyal spirit drew many friends to love John. He will be remembered for his zest for life and love and kindness for all.
  Services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 10:00am, at the Parkview Funeral Home.
