Jose Gracia, 75, died Friday, July 24, 2009 at Doctors Hospital in Manteca. He was born June 6, 1934 in El Paso, Texas and was a resident of Manteca for 37 years. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Maria Guadalupe Blanco.

Jose is survived by his children, Hortensia Vaca of Chicago, IL, Manuel Vaca of Moor Park, Cal., Martha Vaca and Jose Vaca of Manteca; sibling, Luisa Gracia of Louisiana; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Luisa Erminia.

Jose was a farmer for over 40 years in the Manteca area. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling to Lake Tahoe to gamble. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 28, 1 to 5 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son. Vigil/rosary will be Wednesday, July 29, at 9 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wed., July 29, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca. Final resting place will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon.
