Joseph "Joe" Luiz, Jr. passed away on August 14, 2020 into the awaiting arms of Jesus.  A "giant" of a man, Joe lived his life with passion.  He was born in French Camp to the late Joseph and Evelyn Luiz.
Joe had a happy childhood with his siblings, Gary Luiz and Beverly Mullenbruch, who survive him.
He made his career at Sharpe Army Depot, where he met the love of his life, Pauline Estes.  They were married for 29 years and shared a love for outdoor adventures.  Joe was a master storyteller with a vivid imagination.  His stories left his grandkids spellbound.  One of his favorite tales was when he and Pauline took their granddaughter Kaylei camping at the beach.  He went to great lengths to make and bury a treasure chest for her to find with a treasure map.  She thought she was rich!  He adored his family and loved his Lord.  He treasured Pauline.  He was a wonderful dad to Dennis Estes and Dorene Deakin, Joe was a loving "Papa" to Brianna and Heather Deakin, as well as his great-grandson Brayden.
Joe leaves behind many cherished friends in Manteca, CA and Mansfield, MO areas.  He especially enjoyed card games with his friends and weekly visits with Robert Giese.
His love for his family and sharp wit will be greatly missed.  At Joe's request, there will be no services.
