Joseph “Joe” Roy Criado, 62, entered into rest on March 4, 2009 in Modesto, California. He was bon on February 22, 1947 in Brady, Texas to Mr. & Mrs. Alberto & Lila Criado. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother.

He is survived by his father Alberto Huro Criado; children Greg Criado of  Barstow, CA, Valerie & husband Ray Winston of Barstow, CA, Russell Joseph Criado, of Barstow, CA, Paula Sparks of Manteca and Tracy Sparks of Manteca. He is also survived by his siblings; Rudy & wife Mary Criado of San Jose, CA, Rolando & wife Diane Criado of Manteca, Ruben & wife Delia Criado of Manteca, and Richard & wife Margaret Criado of Sacramento. He was blessed by 12 grandchildren; Raquel Criado, Joseph Criado, Daniel Craido, Regina Criado, Serena Winston, Samuel Winston, Jace Criado, Mandy Criado, Maddison Criado all of Barstow and Rachel and Anthony Dionne of Manteca as well as two great-grandchildren.

Joe made his home in Manteca for the past 12 years.  He was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country from 1967-1970. He was employed at T&T Redday of Fremont as a supervisor for over 15 years. Joe was a very hard working man with great morals. His exterior was rough but is heart was as big as the world. Joe and his camera went hand in hand; he loved taking pictures of his family making memories for everyone to reminiscence about.  Joe enjoyed traveling to Reno and Las Vegas; he loved to try his luck at Blackjack. He was an avid Raiders fan and truly savored his son Russ’ cooking; homemade tortillas were one of his favorites. Joe was known to “take his shirt of his back” for anyone who was in need.  To remember Joe is to remember him as a wonderful father, brother, grandfather and son. He will be deeply missed.  

Mr Criado services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will held on Sunday, March 8, from 1 to 5 p.m.. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Monday March 9th, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. 525 E. North St. Manteca. Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 10, at1:30 p.m. at Sacramento National Cemetery 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, Ca.
