Josephine Glass, 86, of Cottonwood, AZ, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2009 in Manteca. She was born on March 19, 1923 in San Pablo, CO.

She is survived by her brothers Joe Ramirez and Amat Barcelona as well as children Felix Estrada, Toni Hogan, Sam Estrada, Patricia Estrada, Richard Estrada and Jr. Estrada.

Josie lived in Arizona for the past 4 years with her daughter Patricia Estrada; she had resided with her for over 11 years. Prior to Arizona, she lived in Sacramento for 7 years and Hayward for 48 years. She spent the last precious months of her life here in Manteca with her family. Josie was the 5th generation of her family, she was strong in her Catholic faith, and was an extraordinary woman. Her strength was admired by all who knew her. She is the mother of 9 children, and had 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Some of Josie’s pleasures were crocheting, cooking, and reading her Enquirer and People magazines. She enjoyed listening and dancing to music, Mariachis was a favorite. A few of her big adventures were her trips to Hawaii, Florida, New Mexico and a cruise to Mexico.

Ms. Glass was preceded in death by her daughters  Betty Ann Estrada and Celia Childers, and son Bob Estrada.

A Catholic Mass will be celebrated for her on Friday, Aug. 21, 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 East North Street, Manteca. P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home handled funeral arrangements for the Glass Family. An online guest book is also available at www.plfryandson.com
