Joyce Conte, 80, entered into rest on January 25, 2012 in Manteca, CA. She was born on November 12, 1931 in Caney, Ok. She joins her parents Hubert and Essie Garvin in Heaven.

Joyce is survived by her children Nanette and Richard Carpenter of Manteca, Terri Souza of Manteca, Tony and Cindy Conte of Bakersfield, and Rhonda Conte of Manteca. She was the proud grandmother of Jeff and Trynette Carpenter of San Diego, Shane Carpenter of Manteca, Alisa Conte of Manteca, Amber and Scott Bruns of Manteca, Stephanie Conte of Brisbane, Australia and Tony Conte III of Sherman Oaks. Joyce was also blessed with twelve great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Joyce was also survived by her brothers, Jerry Garvin, Larry Garvin, and her sister Jewell Hathaway. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joyce was a resident of the Central Valley for over 50 years. She has been a cherished member of The Place of Refuge in Manteca formerly First Assembly of God for over 25 years.

Joyce was a retired restaurant manager and loved to visit and tease with her customers. She had a wicked sense of humor and loved to joke with her friends and family. She loved going to Monterey, Lake Tahoe and also loved dropping a quarter in Jackson! A big fan of southern gospel music, she loved attending Gaither's homecoming concerts and playing yahtzee with the Roberts family. Joyce's

daily calls, and text messages will be missed by her children and friends, as well as her smile and mischievous twinkle in her eyes.

A memorial service to celebrate Joyce's life will be on Monday, January 30, 2012 at The Place of Refuge, 486 Button Ave, Manteca at 10:00 a.m.
