Kenneth H. Fishburn, 91, entered into rest in Manteca on February 12, 2013. He was born the ninth child of 11 children on December 8, 1921 in Marian, Kansas . He joins his wife Mary Fishburn in heaven.

Mr. Fishburn is survived by his beloved children Kay E. Hillard, John K. Fishburn, Gary L. Fishburn and Kent A. Fishburn. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren Robert Mesa, Cindy Mesa, Armand Mesa, Jimmy Mesa, Vicki Coleman, Johnny Fishburn, Riley Fishburn, Kenny Fishburn, Stacy Hatfield, and Sage Fishburn and 17 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth was a resident of Manteca for over 30 years. He proudly served his country through the United States Coast Guard. After the military, he was a self-employed contractor, working in the sheet metal industry for 45 years. He was a member of the sheet metal union local 104. Throughout his 45 years in the industry Kenneth instilled union values in his children and grandchildren. His work ethic and principles made such an enormous impact in his family that his sheet metal legacy gave life to 11 other close family members who are still in the industry today. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Manteca and the VFW San Jose. He was an avid boater and loved the water. He was always passionate about his family; constantly putting together family get-togethers and barbeques. Kenneth’s “open door” policy to family and friends was always non-judgmental with an unconditional loving heart. He was a generous man always giving to the needy with no reserve. Kenneth’s generosity, loving heart, and honest spirit will never be forgotten. He will be missed.

P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Fishburn family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. A graveside will be held in his honor on Sunday, February, 17, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. held at East Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Salvation Army, 615 Slaters Lane, P.O. Box 269, Alexandria, VA 22313.
