Larry D Munger K

After a long illness, Larry D. Munger, 83, entered into rest on September 20, 2016 in Manteca, CA. He was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis and Electra Munger on May 22, 1933 in Minnesota.      He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Munger.
Mr. Munger is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Thelma Munger, children;      Lorie Munger, Randy Munger (Sandy) and foster daughter Linda Hernandez. He was blessed by three grandsons; Vic Munger, John Munger and Alex Munger. In addition, he leaves behind his brother Bill Munger (Loretta), sister in law Alice Munger and his mother in law Bessie Walker as well as, many extended family members whom he loved him dearly.
Larry proudly served his country through the United Sates Navy Reserves for eight years. He was an Electronic Repair Technician by trade working for Sears for over 33 years. Larry had a heart of gold constantly helping others when needed. He and his wife were foster parents for over 40 years which brought them many life blessings. He was a devoted member of first Baptist Church for over 60 years, where he volunteered with the youth and was a deacon for many years; he truly felt his church was his second family. Doing many maintenance projects and repairs Larry dedicated his heart and soul to the church always looking to better the church home for the members and new comers. Larry enjoyed family camping trips, jigsaw puzzles and visiting with friends. Larry will be remembered as a man of God always showing love for others. He will be deeply missed.
Thelma and family would like to extend a warm acknowledgment to both First Baptist Church and Hospice of San Joaquin. They have shown comfort and friendship which was heaven sent. With gratitude our hearts are full; words are not enough to express our thankfulness when times were hard to bear.
P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Munger family. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11a.m. at Parkview Cemetery. An online guest book is available for condolences to the family at www.plfryandson.com (search obituaries).
