Lehman Charles Meseke passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011. He was born in Vandalia, Illinois on February 12th, 1927.

Lee moved to California in 1934, lived and worked in Livermore prior to moving to Manteca.

He served in the Navy, Coast Guard and Air National Guard during WW II and the Korean War and later was a member of the American Legion #249.

Lee greatly enjoyed spending time with his family at gatherings and outings. Other interests  included fishing, golfing, friends, church activities and volunteer services. Volunteering for the San Joaquin County Food Bank, San Joaquin County Blood Bank and Friends of the Library. He was also a member of United Lutheran Church in Manteca.

Lee worked in the communications industry working for the Pacific Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company until his retirement.

He is survived by his loving wife Esther, whom he was married to for 60 years. His children include daughter Michelle  Lundbom and husband Robert of Manteca, daughter Marcia Vingl and husband David of Utah, son Danny Meseke and wife Lori of Manteca and daughter Julie Sanchez and husband Andrew of Glendale. Grandchildren include Brian Lundbom and wife Heather of  Manteca, Rachel Lundbom of Manteca, Chris Meseke and wife Heather of Discovery Bay, Chuck Meseke and wife Michelle of Manteca, Andy Meseke of Manteca, Rachel Vingl of Montana, Nicholas and Jordan Sanchez of Glendale. He is also survived by 9 great grand children.
 
Lee’s passing on to our heavenly father will be a joy to those already in heaven. He will be greatly missed by all of those blessed to have known him.

Lee’s end of life celebra-tion will be held at the United Lutheran Church of Manteca, Wednesday, June 29th, 2011, at 11:00 am.
 
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made to United  Lutheran Church of Manteca.
