Leonard Gale Langum, 89, passed away the morning of July 29 at his home in Ripon surrounded by his loving family. Leonard was born in Sisco, Arkansas on July 21, 1922. He was the fourth of six children born to Tipton Davis and Elsie Langum.

He and his family left Arkansas when he was six years old and worked their way to California. Eventually settling in Escalon where he met and married Bernadette Ange.

Leonard leaves behind his loving wife Bernadette and their three children, Sandra Poteet and husband Ernie, Leonard Gale Jr. and wife Lanay and Lenette Powers and husband Alan. They are blessed with 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one on the way and two great-great granddaughters. In addition Leonard is survived by his brother Paul and wife
Wanda.


Leonard and Bernadette recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. He was a devoted father and took care of his family’s needs. Leonard had a trucking business for 46 years and he continued farming almonds with his son. He enjoyed visiting and sharing memories with family. Leonard always had a warm smile and a good joke. He will be remem-bered for being a loving husband, father and grand-father. He will be deeply missed.

Arrangements for Mr. Langum are under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2nd from 1-7pm followed by a Rosary. A mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, August 3rd at 11am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 East North Street, Manteca. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
