Lester Keeling, 72, entered into rest on October 22, 2017 in Modesto, CA. He was born in California on September 8, 1945 to the late Ernest and Rosemarie Keeling. 
   He is preceded in death by his parents and his niece Kathy Schneider.
   Mr. Keeling is survived by his two sisters Marlene Doyle and Diane Ligon; daughters Jeanette Leland and Carolyn Borgen; nieces and nephews Teresa Aceves, Jimmy Dutcher, Steven Dutcher, Marie Bruce, Laura Ligon and Eddie Ligon. In addition, Lester was survived by his best friend, Ron Schneider, and numerous grandchildren, as well as, many extended family members who loved him dearly.
  A 30 year resident of Manteca, Lester Keeling retired honorably from the United States Army after 20 years of service. Lester loved spending time in the great outdoors where camping, fishing and traveling in his RV were some of his favorites. With a creative mind Lester was wonderful with his hands building many projects with detailed perfection. Lester will be remembered as a true gentleman, an amazing brother and a loving father, uncle and exemplary soldier. He will be deeply missed.
   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Keeling family. A service will be held in his honor on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA. He will be laid to rest with full military honors on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240 Street, Kent, WA 98042.
