Longin Luxa passed away peacefully on July 2, 2009 in Manteca, at the age of 103 years. He was a resident  of Manteca for 20 years. He was born on October 13, 1905 in Stanton, Nebraska, where he worked as a farmer. He was preceded in death by his  wife of 56 years, Sophie Dubsky.

Longin and Sophie had two daughters, Marilyn Newcomb (Walt) and Janet Vieira (Joe). He was blessed with six  grandchildren; Chuck Newcomb (Sandra), Tom Newcomb (Kristie), Ann Newcomb,  Renee Hames (Chris), Shelley Newcomb, Sharon Debebar, nine great-grandchildren  and two great-great-granddaughters. Longin “Grandpa” will be missed  by all who knew and loved him.
