Loretta Ann Davidson, 71, passed peacefully at Doctor’s Hospital of Manteca on Sunday, March 6, 2011.  She was born on Dec. 31, 1939 in Fortuna, California to Charles and Leta Young.  On March 23, 1963 she married Davey L. Davidson. They made their home in San Jose, California where they raised their family until moving to Manteca, California in 1996.

Loretta (Lori) was a kind hearted woman who always had a smile and a hug for everyone. She never knew a stranger and wherever she went would always make a new friend. She was an avid reader, loved her crossword puzzles and writing poetry. She enjoyed playing an active role in her children and grandchildren’s lives. Lori spent many years as a coach and director for the youth bowling program in San Jose. When her children began school, she began her working career as a library aide and continued to work for the Alum Rock School District for 17 years until her retirement.

After suffering a bout with breast cancer, she was determined to help provide support to others affected by cancer. This determination led Lori to establish Manteca’s first cancer support group, “Friends Sharing”. Her wonderful spirit, kindness, and generosity will be remembered by many people. She was loved and will be dearly missed those who knew her.

Lori is survived by her children, Mark McConnell, Mark Monroy, Joe Monroy, Twylla Forrest & son-in-law John Forrest, Maria Lewis & son-in-law Michael Keltner, Dede Davidson & Gina Mauk, Marissa Wilson & son-in-law Scott Wilson. She had 19 grandchildren: Mark, Michael, Christopher, Brianna, Steven, Tammy, Dillon, Jason, Brandon, Daniel, Jessica, Marisa, Robbie, Austin, Presley, Wesly, Amanda, Jessica, and Troy. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Travis and Jaeden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Leta Young, her son Elliott, and her husband, Davey L. Davidson.
