Born in Hettinger, North Dakota, on September 23, 1938 Lorraine was the youngest of six with three older brothers and two older sisters and was raised on a farm on the prairie. The Dole family moved to Escalon where she attended grammar school and Escalon High. As a young woman, Lorraine caught Glenn Fredriks eye at a gathering at their good friends, the Vanden Bosch’s, and quickly became his sweetheart when he took her on a date the next weekend in his 1957 Skyliner. They got engaged fourth of July, 1959 and married at Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon on September 4, 1959.
   Glenn and Lorraine established their home in Ripon where their children Lorajean, Steve and David were born. They lived on the family farm where they grew grapes and almonds. Lorraine made sure she always had an open door, coffee and warm cookies, ready to welcome family and friends.  
   Over the years their family continued to grow to include spouses and grandchildren. Lorraine had a servant’s heart and strong faith in the Lord, constantly reaching out with thoughtful cards and a kind word. Lorraine was a perpetual hostess who made those around her feel enveloped by love and she was fulfilled through investing her life in those around her.  Lorraine enjoyed teaching Sunday school and serving as a Stephen’s Ministry leader. She worked for a number of years at Gottschalks and then as a checker at Big Boy Supermarket in Manteca.
   Lorraine loved to spend time in Palm Desert as often as she could and travel with Glenn throughout the United States in their RV, spending time enjoying God’s creation across National Parks, the East coast, and Alaska and creating lots of memories. They treasured time spent Sunday mornings after church with family and gatherings monthly to play cards and share special moments of their lives with their closest friends. 
   On April 14, 2014 Lorraine peacefully left this world surrounded by her family, and went to be with her heavenly Father. Those who long to see her again include her loving husband Glenn Fredriks, and their children, Lorajean (Francois) Ziesel, Steve (Jackie) Fredriks, and David Fredriks, along with her precious grandchildren, Mark (Andrea) Ziesel, Janese Ziesel, Denae (Daniel) De Graaf, and Karen Fredriks. She will also be missed by her siblings Severn Dole, Joyce Anderson, Henry Dole, Anna Jean Vande Kieft, and Marvin Dole, all of her nephews and nieces, as well as her many friends.
   Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan- Ripon Memorial Chapel. A visitation will be held at Deegan – Ripon Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 3PM to 5PM and a Memorial Celebration service will be held April 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Reformed Church at 724 Second Street in Ripon, CA.
