Louane (Lee) Walker

Louane (Lee) Walker, 72, former resident of Manteca, passed away on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, surrounded by members of her family and friends from her church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roy; and six children, Karen, Laurie, Stacy, Michael, Steven, and John. She had eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Louane was preceded in death by her parents, Orvin and Stella Lee; her sister, Naomi “Jeannie” Morris; and three brothers, Gerald, Carleton, and Robert. She is survived by her brother Elwood.

Louane had a long battle with bronchial disease. She graduated from Houston High School in Houston, MN in 1956. She pursued a career in nursing at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI and subsequently moved to the Los Angeles area to work in the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. After her marriage to Roy, they moved north to Modesto and subsequently to Manteca where they lived for many years.

Louane and Roy volunteered for many years at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Memorializations for Louane may be sent to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at 910 East North Street, Manteca, CA 95336.
