Madalene W. Emslie passed away on Feb. 10, 2011 at Bethany Home. She was 97 years old and had been a resident of Ripon for all of her life.  She was born on April 18, 1913 in Stockton.  She was an artist who loved hummingbirds and butterflies.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and painting.  

Madalene was preceded in death by; her husband Thomas J. Emslie, their son William C. Emslie, their grandson Jeffery A. Emslie, her sister Opal Alleman, her brother Gerald Farschon, her brother Bill Farschon and her parents William and Johnnie Farschon.    Madalene is survived by her son Bob Emslie of Ripon.  She was blessed by her grandchildren, Thomas O. Emslie of Nampa, Idaho, William C. Emslie Jr. of Ripon, Kathryn G. Dougherty of Ripon, Jimmie E. Rose of Manteca. Her great-grandchildren Casey Paseka of Ripon, Kayla Rose of Manteca, Matthew Rose of Manteca, Madelyne Dougherty of Ripon Jilian Dougherty of Ripon, Chloe Emslie of Nampa, ID and 1 great-great grandchild Kenadie Hoogeveen Paseka of Manteca.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb.16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel.  Her service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel with burial following at Ripon Cemetery.  In loving memory donations may be sent to the Ripon Fire Department, 142 S.
