Maria Nazare Dias, 90, entered into rest on April 22, 2022 in Ripon, Ca. She was a native of Santo Antão Topo on the island of São Jorge, Azores born on October 29, 1931. 

   She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio P. Dias.  Mrs. Dias is survived by her loving children, Marta Dias-Linn, Rosalie Teicheira (Michael), Angela Joaquin (Randy), Cesar Dias (Kelly), Danny Dias (Stephanie) and Robert Dias (Valerie), her grandchildren, Jennifer, Monica, Kristen (Travis), Jillian, Kaylee (Zack), Brianna, Devin, Dylan, David, Kelsey, Kaleb, Zack and Grayson and great-grandchildren Taytum, Teagan, Sadie and Mason. In addition, Maria has two surviving siblings, Matthew Brasil, Lucilia Vierra and nieces and nephews.

   A resident of Manteca for over 50 years, Maria was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, MRPS and PFSA. She was very proud of her Portuguese heritage and was known for her wonderful cooking and her fabulous sweet bread. Family was always most important to Maria, her life was full with her 6 children, her 12 grandchildren, she especially looked forward in seeing her four great-grandchildren which always warmed her heart and put a big smile on her face. Maria will be remembered for her loving heart, beautiful spirit, her unconditional love for family and contagious smile. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Dias family. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 1, 2022 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a rosary at 3 p.m., both held at P.L. Fry and Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. Mass will be on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. located at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 525 E. North St. Manteca, Ca. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at St. John’s Catholic Church.
