Marion [Andersen] Herburger was born in Gonzalez, California September 22, 1924 to Mathew and Eleanor Schadeck. Marion graduated from Manteca High in 1942.

Whether it was driving across the SF Bay Bridge on opening day, singing in high school operettas, playing softball, or welding to help the WWII effort, Marion lived with gusto. Following WWII, she married Andy Andersen who returned home to his farm In Manteca with a Purple Heart and as a surviving prisoner of war. They raised three children on that beloved farm. Following Andy’s passing in 1979 she married Robert Herburger in 1984 and moved to Jamestown and later Sonora before moving to Madera following Bob’s passing.

Marion is survived by her children, Susan Andersen of Meridian, ID, Sally Frazier [Stephen] of Madera, James Andersen [Pam] of Stockton, and Carol Herburger Pollard of Novato, CA. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 22nd, at Park View Funeral Home in Manteca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Madera United Methodist Church, 500 Sunset Ave., Madera, 93637 or Hinds Hospice, 2490 W. Shaw Ave., Fresno 93711.
