Marion Ellen Arndt joyously entered into paradise and the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 4, 2011.  She happily joined her beloved husband Don Arndt and her precious son, Russell Arndt.  Also waiting for their sweet reunion were her brother Warren Thompson and granddaughter, Samantha Atherton.

Billie was born in Missoula, Montana, to Lynn and Dorothy Thompson.  She was the first of their two children.

She left this earth peacefully and lovingly surrounded by her 3 devoted daughters and faithful companion, her dachshund Lil Buddy.

Billie graduated from the University of Montana with her AA degree.  She left her continuing education to marry the love of her life, Don Arndt, and to go to work so that he could finish his education.

Billie was a supportive, fun and awesome mother to Diane Beck (Peter), Dorothy Swicord (Ron), Sandy Vochatzer (Herb), and the late Russell Arndt and his wife Julie.  She was also a devoted grandmother to 12 grandchildren who loved and adored her.   Billie also leaves behind 2 nieces, Elizabeth Ingraham and Shawnley Walton, special cousin, Margaret McPike and her wonderful sister-in-law, Anny Thompson.

Billie loved her family, loved to cook, loved to do things for others, and loved to have fun!

Billie will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, especially her friends from Mayfair Christian Church, First Baptist Church, her BSF Birthday Club and the wonderful angels from Hospice of San Joaquin!

Billie had a great sense of humor, an awesome personality and a love for life despite her physical suffering and many losses.  She did not complain and was filled with love and gratitude for her daughter Sandy, son-in-law Herb and grandson John who had the awesome privilege of caring for her in their home for the last 2 ½ years until she made her graceful exit.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 3535 North El Dorado Street in Stockton.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA. 95204.  Arrangements for Mrs. Arndt’s services are under the direction of PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca.  An online tribute wall is available for condolences and special message at www.plfryandson.com search obituaries.
