Marion (Gib) Sutton passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in Modesto at age 100. He has the honor of being the last Sutton of his generation.

Gib married Gladys Blair on October 1, 1932. In July, a son, Bill was born. A daughter Bobbie followed in 1934. In 1936 they moved to Tracy where daughters, Sharon was born in 1943 and Judy in 1948. Gib and Gladys built three homes to accommodate a growing family.

He retired from Tracy Rural Fire Department in 1975 after 20-plus years of service.

Gladys passed away in 1999 and Gib moved to Beth Haven in Ripon, later to Samaritan Village and finally to the Sundial. Gib was very grateful for all the friends and family that assisted him in his later years. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Gib is survived by a son, Bill (Shirlee), daughters, Bobbie Sutton, Sharon Lewis (Doyle), Judy Spina (Jim), grandchildren, Teri Lynn, Chris, Brian, Jeff, Michael and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be on Monday, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m. at The  Place of Refuge (Assembly of God), 486 Button Avenue in Manteca. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Salas Bros. Funeral Home in Modesto.
