Marvin Russell Bledsoe Jr.
May 18, 2000 - March 24, 2014

Marvin Russell Bledsoe Jr., (known affectionately as “Russell”) entered into his Lord’s Arms on March 24, 2014, in Manteca, CA. He was born on May 18, 2000, in Manteca, CA. In to Paradise he joins his mother, Jill Lynne Hector Bledsoe, and his paternal grandparents Jesse and Clara Bledsoe.    Russell is survived by his father Dr. Marvin Russell Bledsoe Sr., sisters: Marijohn Marie Bledsoe and Julia Marie Bledsoe. His maternal grandparents are Willie Hector & wife Connie, and Joileen Richards Pose and husband Hans. He adored his only nephew, Langston Boaz Bledsoe-Ragland. His aunts and uncles are Janelle Bledsoe Pringle, Carroll Bledsoe, Byron Hector, Zuri Hector, and Sekou Richards. In addition, Russell is survived by a host of extended family members, neighbors, caregivers, teachers and close friends who loved him dearly.    Russell was a full time student at Joshua Cowell Elementary School where he held the position of Student Body President. He was a 4.0 student and he held perfect attendance for many years. He truly loved his school and everything it represented. Russell looked forward to his morning routine which included honors classes at Manteca High School where he made many friends. He was eager to begin Manteca High in the fall as a full time student where he was ready to experience high school life as a Buffalo.  He was extremely intelligent and had many goals for his life. These included studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and study abroad. It was his dream to study at Hebrew University, in Israel, to become an Astrophysicist.
Russell enjoyed traveling with his father all over the world. Some of his favorite places were Dublin, Ireland and Jerusalem, Israel where he was Baptized in the Jordan River. He cherished his holidays in Tennessee with his aunts, uncles and cousins.    He was a member of Christian Worship Center where he was fully involved in their many activities including the youth group, the Rangers. Russell full heartily believed in the scripture found in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” He made his love for God known to everyone he met. He knew God had a plan for him and lived it out with all his heart, mind and strength.
He enjoyed spending time with his sister Julia by surfing the Web, playing games, and going to the park. He was extremely independent and loved the challenge of Biblical exegesis with his sister Marijohn. Russell will be remembered as a kind young man who loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. He will be deeply missed.
