Marvin Van Voorst
October 7, 1948-April 25, 2018
Marvin Voorst

Marvin Van Voorst passed away peacefully on April 25, 2018, at the age of 69.  He was born on October 7, 1948, in Loma Linda, CA, to Cornelius “Casey” and Edith Van Voorst.
He is survived by his wife of 17 ½ years, Margo Van Voorst; stepsons Duane Davis and Joshua (Jennifer) Davis of Stockton, CA and brother Vern (Kathy) Van Voorst of Young, AZ.  He was blessed with six grandchildren: Makala, Miles, JC, CJ, Katelyn and Aubrey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Van Voorst graduated from Coachella High School in Coachella, CA, and then pursued his Agriculture Engineering degree at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. He would come home every summer to work for his father’s trucking business as a truck driver to save money for college.  After attending for three years, he decided to come home and join the family business.  He worked as a truck driver for over 40 years.  He loved his wife, Margo, his family, God and his church family. Marvin also enjoyed jeeping with friends.  Though driving was his job, it was also his passion as he enjoyed long haul heavy trucking. Taking road trips with his wife was his idea of a great vacation, and sitting at home watching old westerns and vintage favorites was just as enjoyable to him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Church, 815 W. Lathrop Rd., Manteca.  A graveside service will be held later that day at 1:30 p.m. at Park View Cemetery, 3661 French Camp Rd., Manteca.  For condolences to the family, please visit www.plfryandson.com.
