Mary Margaret Silva, 88, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in Manteca. She was born Dec. 23, 1920 in Gustine. She was a long time resident of Manteca for 80 years.


Mrs. Silva is survived by her daughter, Gertrude Isaia of Ripon; siblings, John Pimentel of Manteca, Paulina Gomes of Dunnigan and Virginia Hall of Red Bluff; grandchildren, Danielle Pierce of Ripon and Jeff Isaia of Indiana; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son and sister, the late Albertina Gomes.


Mary retired as a certified nurse’s assistant after 20 years at Palm Haven Convalescent in Manteca. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she was active with (Y.L.I.) Young Ladies Institute. She belonged to the Legion of Mary. She loved to play bingo and poker.
