PEGGY K

Mary Margaret Perry, “Peggy” to her friends, was born on March 9,1941 in Pontiac, Michigan.  She softly passed away from this life October 12, 2017.
Peggy was a long time resident of Tracy, CA, before moving to Manteca in 2014.
She is survived by her sister Carol Ann Wilson, two children, daughter Kelly Padgett and son John Perry, two granddaughters Hallie Perry and Rhiannan Padgett, a great-grand daughter Parker Perry, her sister Carol Ann Wilson as well as her faithful service dog Lilley.
She was proceded in death by her son, Donald Padgett, daughter Kimberly Padgett and grandson Lance Padgett.
Peggy worked at many jobs as she struggled to raise her four children alone.  She waitressed at the Nut Tree restaurant in Fairfield, and in the ‘70’s she bartended, and danced as a Go Go Girl to make ends meet. Later she was employed as the head cook at a nursing home.  But by far, her favorite job was as an engineering tech for the Lawrence Livermore Lab where she spent close to 15 years.
Peggy loved cooking for the girls at girls camp and  always made and gave away candles. She was an avid journalist and loved to write poetry. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family near Half Moon Bay. She had a brilliant mind with a vibrant personality.
About 17 years ago she changed her life when she became a member of the LDS Church.  She was proud to be a Mormon, and held true to her testimony to her dying day. Peggy will be missed by those who loved her so well.
A memorial service is planned for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, at the LDS Chapel, located at 6060 Northland Road, Manteca, CA.
