Mary R. Aksland,  87, entered into rest on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton. She was born on February 22, 1924 in Manteca. She was a lifetime resident of Manteca.  Mary was preceded in death by husbands, Larry W. Aksland and Hank Teunissen; her brother, Andrew Rossi, and two sisters, Sadie Abatangle and Ida Riella.  

She leaves behind her children, Patricia Teunissen, step sons, Larry Teunissen, Gary Aksland and wife, Carol, all of Manteca, and step daughter, Kathleen Reynolds of Modesto.  She was blessed with four step-grandchildren, Vicki Aksland, Ron Aksland, Tanya Hall and Michelle Aksland. 

Along with her late husband, Mary owned and operated Larry W. Aksland Incorporated in Manteca for over 50 years.  She had previously worked for H. Moffat Feed Lots in Manteca.  Mary also worked for Spreckels Sugar and Sharpe Army Depot.  She enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, traveling and spending time in Palm Desert.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Mrs. Aksland are under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 9:00 to 10a.m. at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home.  A Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca.  She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Mausoleum, 17871 S. Carrolton, Escalon.
