Matthew Golembeck
April 15, 1923-December 5, 2014
Matthew Golembeck bw

Matthew Golembeck 91, entered into rest on Friday, December 5, 2014 in Manteca. He was born in Schenectady, NY on April 15, 1923. In heaven Matt joins his adored wife of 53 years Elizabeth, along with their two children Nancy and Matthew Golembeck.
Matthew leaves behind his children, Mari Jo Merrell and husband Don of South Carolina and Tom Golembeck and wife Candy of Manteca.  He was blessed with six grandchildren, Anthony Golembeck, Melissa Golembeck, Michael Merrell, Laura Howell, Brian Golembeck and Eric Golembeck.  In addition Matt has numerous great grandchildren.
Matthew was a United States veteran serving his country proudly through the ARMY. Formerly from New York, Matthew was raised in a traditional Catholic home. Matthew was raised with morals and respect or as many would “old school ways.” He made home in Manteca with Elizabeth and together they raised their children.  Matthew eventually owned and operated his own construction company and in time his children would follow in their father’s footsteps.  Matt was head strong and made his thoughts known. In his down time he enjoyed gambling at the local Indian casinos, a good conversation, a game of pinochle and he was an avid bowler. He loved his family dearly and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.  Matt left a life time of hard work, tradition and values. He will be remembered for his strong will and for being a devoted husband and father. He will truly be missed.
