A proud Irishman, Maurice J. McQuinn, 86, of Manteca passed away November 6, 2016. Maurice was born in a farm house near Cameron, MO. on July 23, 1930. He lived and worked in several Midwestern states before moving to Tracy, Ca. in 1978.
He was a U.S. Navy Seebee Veteran and was deployed overseas three times; he served from 1954-1956. He was a member of The American Legion Post 249. He was a Professional Civil Engineer registered in Illinois and California; after 30 years of federal service he retired from Bureau of Reclamation in 1988. He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their RV; Half Moon Bay, Bodega Bay and all along the coast were some of their favorite spots. A reserved but witty man Maurice had an amazing talent for woodworking; making beautiful carvings and fine furniture for family and friends. He was a self-proclaimed Gemologist collecting unique and rare rocks from around the world.   Maurice is survived by son; Thomas and his Daughters; Maureen, Teresa and Rita. He was blessed by six surviving grandchildren; Blaine, Timothy, Samuel, Haley, Natalie and Ana. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy and one grandson Ryan.
P.L .Fry & Son is honored to be service the McQuinn family. A Irish wake will be held Wednesday November 9, 2016 at 5. to 8 p.m. held at P.L Fry & Son Chapel 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca, Ca. A mass will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St. Manteca, Ca. He will be laid to rest at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
