Melba Robertson

Melba Robertson, 78, entered into rest on July 29, 2009 in Ripon.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1931 in Hartman, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her siblings Joe Schoeffler, Lawrence Schoeffler, Gertie Guthrie, Ruby McCleary and Bertha Felkins as well as one grandchild Rick King.

Ms. Robertson is survived by her children Becky Robertson and husband Terry Turner of Manteca and Steven Robertson of Clarksville, Arkansas. She has one surviving brother Harold Schoeffler. In addition she was blessed by 3 surviving grandchildren Wendy King of Manteca, Kim Lambert of Manteca, Jeanette Lambert of Manteca and 4 great-grandchildren; Robbie Wise, Kayla Wise, Jeff Wise, and Emma Broderick all of Manteca.

Melba retired in 1992, after 35 years, as a kindergarten school teacher for Nile Garden Elementary in Manteca. She was extremely dedicated to her students and was admired by many of her peers. She enjoyed traveling every summer with family. Her travels included; Europe, Canada and most of the United States. Melba cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she treasured every moment she spent with them.

Ms. Robertson’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. at P.L .Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. She will be laid to rest at Hartman Cemetery in Arkansas.
