Melissa Knox passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 from natural causes. She was 94 years old.
She was born on January 30, 1915 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma to William and Bertha Caldwell. She had been a resident of Escalon since 1936, retiring from Escalon Packers in 1980. She was faithful with her Bible reading, and enjoyed quilting & crocheting. She was a member of the Church of the First Born in Modesto.
Melissa is survived by her children Al and Lorraine Knox, Charles and Tammy Knox, Gary and Cindy Knox, and Russell and Sherry Knox, all of Escalon; her sister Macy Robinson of Strout, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Al Knox, her daughters Bertha Mason, Leola Best and Ruth Ann Rose, her parents, and her 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Melissa’s graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, at noon at Burwood Cemetery 28320 E. River Road in Escalon.
