Mildred J. Niswonger, 89, passed away on July 9, 2020, at Manteca's Doctors Hospital.
   She was born November 6, 1930, in Yuba City, California the fourth child of five to Archibald and Estelle Rackerby.
   Mildred attended Yuba College and graduated from Chico State University in 1952 with a BA in Education. After she proceeded to become a teacher in Loomis.  She met Francis (Bill) Niswonger in 1952 on a blind date.  While Bill was in the military, she taught for five years.  After the Korean War, they were married in 1954 and resided in Redding, California.  Bill was in the lumber business.  In 1959, the first son, Mark Niswonger, was born.  Then three years later, the second son, Timothy Niswonger, was born.  Later, she became a stay at home mother helping Bill in the lumber business during the 70s and 80s.  They moved to Manteca, California in1969 and built their beautiful home on 2 1/2 acres in1980.  They raised kiwis in the back and were active in the Shasta School PTA.
   Mildred enjoyed traveling with her husband Bill, in their GMC motorhome around the USA visiting their family and friends.  Mildred was a strong Christian mother who loved her church family as well.  Mildred liked to spend weekends at their cabin in the 1970's in Strawberry, California at Cow Creek. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, crossword puzzles and gardening.
   Mildred took great interest in genealogy.  After retirement, she loved spending time with her family, Mark, Rachelle, grandchildren, Blake and wife Megan, Tim, grandchildren Briana, Brandon and Nick.
   She met every Tuesday with her Tuesday group crew, the mothers, for coffee and doughnuts.

   Burial will be on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Park View Cemetery at 10 a.m. All friends and family welcome.
