June 9, 1925-December 4, 2014
Mintie Linhart bw

Mintie Jane Linhart, 89, of Manteca, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, December 4th, 2014.  She was born on June 9, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa to Clarence Nathanial and Clara Genevieve (Smith) Morehouse.  Jane, as she  preferred to be called, married the love of her life, John Paul Linhart on March 25, 1948 in San Francisco, California.
Jane enjoyed working with her husband for many years.  Together, they owned and operated an auction house, bought and sold at flea markets and were bankruptcy court appraisers.  Upon retirement, they moved from Hayward to Manteca and were involved in many Senior Center activities.
A lifetime avid reader, Jane could finish a good book in a day.  She will be remembered as a hands-on mother and grandmother, who read to her children and grandchildren, and sang and taught them funny little songs from her own childhood.  She was and will forever be, very much loved.
Jane was preceded by her parents, brothers; William and Roy Morehouse, her sister Faye Medhaug, and in February 2009 by her husband of nearly 61 years, John Paul Linhart of Manteca.
Jane is survived by her son John Paul Linhart Jr. and daughter, Barbara Jane Grizzle and her husband Johhny of Manteca; four grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew Grizzle and wife Melissa, Kristina Thompson and husband Glenn, Roy Grizzle and wife Amber, and Laura Maggard and husband Richard; plus eight great-grandchildren, Lexie, Cameron, Alyssa, Andrew, Alani, Jovon, Mason and Charlotte.
A private family memorial and scattering of ashes for Jane and John is being planned and will be held at a later date.
