Myra Lee Netoff (Steenson) passed away at the age of 68, after a short battle with cancer. She spent the final days of her life supported by the wonderful staff at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House, in Hughson, CA, where she was attended by her son and daughter, and visited by many dear friends and family.

She loved life, and was making plans for exciting adventures ‘til the very end. She was a unique and vibrant individual, and a social butterfly among friends or strangers. Born in Pratt, Kansas, she moved to California at a very early age and spent the majority of her school-age years in Brookdale. She lived and visited many places throughout her life, and made friends wherever she went. She spent the last ten years living in Escalon and enjoying life in a small community. She was a volunteer at the local animal shelter, and Memorial Hospital, an active member of the Escalon Senior Center, and an avid Red Hatter.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas Netoff, of Petaluma, CA; her daughter, Suzanne Zarevich, of Modesto, CA; her brother, James Steenson, of Pioneer, CA; and her grand-daughters, Andrea & Amber Zarevich, of Manteca, CA. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 11 a.m., at the Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon, CA 95320. Remembrances can be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356-9259.
