Had kindest heart

Nancy Lee Bishop, 75, entered into rest peacefully and surrounded by her family on March 28, 2011.

She was affectionately known as “Bunca” by her family, a name her grandson gave to her while trying to pronounce Grandma.

Nancy was born in Denver, CO. She came to California to marry her sweetheart, Ronald James Bishop. Most of her life she resided in Southern California, and the past 17 years she resided in the Manteca/Lathrop area living with her family.

Nancy worked as a teacher’s aide at Murray Elementary School in Azusa, CA. for 18 years. She always enjoyed working with children.

One of her favorite past times was to be in Las Vegas with her girlfriends playing the nickel slot machines.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald James Bishop and her son Robert James Bishop. She is survived by her daughter Lori Ann Sanchez; son-in-law Martin J. Sanchez Sr.; grandsons, Evan Sanchez, Matthew Sanchez and Shaun Long; great-grandchildren twins Angel and Robert Sanchez, Mele Sanchez, Ethan Sanchez, Andrew Long and soon-to-be Gabriella Sanchez. She is also survived by sister-in-law Katherine Archuletta and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy had the kindest heart and the sweetest soul. She was so very loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

There will not be a memorial service. Her ashes will be spread at sea in Capitola, California, on April 23, 2011 at the wharf at 10 a.m. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
