Surrounded by her loving family, Nasta Ann Getz (Limas), entered into rest on April 16, 2020. She was born on June 23, 1939 in Beaumont, Texas.
Ms. Getz is survived by her children, Cathy Grijalva (Joe) and Julie Garza (Bernie) and siblings, Jeanette Washburn and Edward Kawaja. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Erica Flowers (Allen), Joey Grijalva, Bernie Garza (Nicole), Mark Garza and Sarah Garza and one great-granddaughter, Ava Bradberry-Flowers.
Ann was a veteran of the United States Air Force proudly serving her country from 1957-1959. She was a resident of Manteca for over 60 years. Ann was all about her children and grandchildren. She was the real definition of a “mama bear.”  She was a kind soul but she never tolerated people who were fake or cruel. If Ann did not like it, you were going to know it. She was a real and honest person. She constantly showed off her grand- children, they all were her pride and joy. She made sure they always had everything and then some. Back to school shopping was a full day event with her daughter and grandchildren. She was great in the kitchen and always would send home meals to feed both her daughters’ families. Holidays were something we all looked forward to, simply for the amazing food and desserts, especially her famous carrot cake, lemon meringue and chocolate pie. She will be missed deeply but our love for her lives on forever.
